Welcome to Wild Mountain Outfitters! Our goal is to help you have an awesome adventure in one of the most beautiful outdoor settings on earth. When my great-grandfather homesteaded in the Uncompahgre Valley west of Ridgway, Colorado nearly a hundred years ago, only a few miles from where we run our outfitting company today to find an elk was not an everyday occurrence. Now during a good day of hunting, it is more likely than not. I am the 4th generation, my son the 5th from a family that learned to survive by living off the land, whether it was hunting, fishing, working the land, or training and using horses daily in a mountain environment. We are using this foundation of outdoor experience over the past hundred years to help you have an unforgettable outdoor adventure. While we are a newer Colorado Outfitting company our experience with the outdoors is not! Whether it’s chasing elk, deer, bear, or lion, or taking a day ride to one of the most beautiful high mountain lakes on earth it is our goal to help you enjoy some of the wonderful experiences in the outdoors that we have. You will notice in our photo gallery some of these experiences we’ve had in the past with friends and family and we hope you enjoy these. We also have a section of photos that visitors to our base camp area have generously donated, many of these being professional photographers. We are truly grateful for their donations!
