Montrose County Fair & Rodeo: Mutton Bustin

About

Mutton Bustin is the little wranglers’ version of bull or bronc riding. Instead of a horse or bull, kids age 5 - 7 years ride a sheep. Fair Board members act as judges and award the gold buckle to the kid that rides the longest and with the most style. Interested in participating? Entries are limited to the first 30 contestants. Children must be less than 65 pounds and between 5 and 7 years of age.

Mutton Bustin entries will be taken Sunday July 25 9am-2pm and Monday July 26 9am-6pm at the Event Center.  The actual Mutton Bustin will take place on July 30 at 6:30pm (before the bull riding) and July 31 at 6:30pm (before the CPRA rodeo).
