Hands-On History History Archaeology Camp

Come find out what it’s like to dig like an Archaeologist. You’ll dig at our simulated archaeological site located where Chief Ouray and Chipeta once homesteaded. You’ll also wash, catalog, and analyze ancient artifacts. Work with real archaeologists and museum professionals.

At archaeology camp, you’ll learn about American Indian cultures, both past, and present. Find out what it’s like to make Ute beadwork, throw a wooden spear with an atlatl, build a tipi and wickiup, and make fire with a bow drill.

Open to students age 11+
