About Visit Montrose

Office of Business and Tourism LogoThose living in Montrose are well aware of the countless reasons why this is a special place to play and live life to the full. The same features that attract our community’s residents are the same treasures that appeal to its guests, and it is the Office of Business and Tourism’s (OBT) exciting task to invite travelers to discover Montrose as their next destination.

An outstanding place deserves representation to match. Much like other industries, there is recognition for destination marketing organizations (DMOs) that epitomize excellence. Destinations International (DI) is the trade association that advocates for the industry, educates practitioners, and accredits DMOs according to nearly 100 best practice standards. The globally-recognized accreditation that DI provides serves as a visible industry distinction that defines quality and performance standards in destination marketing and management.

The Montrose OBT gained Destination Marketing Accreditation Program credentials in December 2015 after completing a rigorous eligibility and certification process. Achieving accreditation captures — in a symbol — our philosophy of excellence in hospitality and programming as well as our commitment to continual improvement.

More than just a symbol of excellence, accreditation enhances the professionalism of staff and positions DMOs as valued and respected organizations in their communities — and the world. The process of accreditation has helped solidify and standardize Visit Montrose's day-to-day operations and clarified its focus and tasks. These refinements translate into top-notch services for our visitors and worthy representation for the Montrose community. DMAP logo
